There’s a lot of disinformation out there about voting — and you can help be part of the solution by sharing true, verified, and reliable information. Please use these ready-made social media posts to help make sure your friends, family, and neighbors know their rights!

The Election Protection program is active in all 50 states with field programs and/or voter assistance hotlines. In addition, we encourage all voters to to take the following steps in order to help your community ensure every eligible voter is able to vote:

Vote early or absentee. This is the best way to ensure that you are available to help others on Election Day. If you need information on early and absentee voting in your state, click here.

Make a plan to vote on Election Day with your family and friends. Having a concrete plan to vote with details, not just intending to vote, has been shown to increase voter turnout significantly. If you aren’t sure what identification you need to vote, you can call the VoteRiders’ National Voter ID Hotline: 844-338-8743.

Share your state’s know your rights information with other voters. Each state has different rules on Election Day that can be confusing. For a detailed guide regarding your voting laws, please visit www.866ourvote.org/state and click on your state. You will be able to find information on polling locations and hours of operation, ID requirements, and frequently asked questions.

Promote the Election Protection hotlines. The Election Protection Coalition has four numbers you may call to help you with questions on or before Election Day. Please share these numbers with your community and at the polls on Election Day. Add these numbers to your phone – and then copy-and-paste them into an email to your friends and family:

Report any problems at the polls to the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline. The hotline provides one-on-one assistance to voters with questions or problems that may arise. The hotline also identifies the most common issues voters encounter (from language assistance to a misunderstanding of the rules by volunteer poll workers) and gives counties and the state a chance to come up with solutions.
